    Housing And Meals

Housing is included in the cost of tuition. Your accommodation lies in Zone One – which covers London’s iconic neighborhoods and the heart of the larger metropolis. All Sotheby’s Institute students will be housed in the same building, and only with other Sotheby’s Institute Gap students within their apartment.
Students take a cookery class in their first week with us, which introduces them to basic cookery skills and to London’s historic markets and other places to source food. Occasional dinners featuring special guests are hosted by the Program Director. We accommodate a range of dietary restrictions and preferences.
Download the Gap Prospectus for more information on apartment location and amenities.
  • Admissions

    Admissions

The Gap Year program is open to students ages 18-21. All prospective Gap Year students are required to complete an online application. The online application can be completed in a few basic steps. Applicants will be asked to submit a recent transcript, short personal statement, and a $50 application fee. As students work through their application, they may save their progress and return to the application prior to final submission.

    Application Timeline
All applications are carefully reviewed by our admissions committee. Each application is reviewed holistically and qualified students who have demonstrated both a genuine interest in Gap Year and a strong academic background will be considered for admission to the program.
Students will receive an admissions decision via the email address provided on their application within two-three weeks. Accepted students will be required to submit a nonrefundable deposit within two weeks of notification of their admissions decision.
Space is strictly limited so we strongly encourage students to submit their applications as early as possible. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, however there are two key deadlines for each semester:
    Fall 2021

    • Financial Aid Deadline: June 28, 2021

    • Application Deadlines:

      • Session 1: August 23, 2021

      • Session 2: October 4, 2021

    Spring 2022

    • Financial Aid Deadline: November 15, 2021

    • Application Deadline: January 17, 2022

  • Financial Aid

    Financial Aid

Limited financial assistance is awarded based on a combination of merit and need. In order to be considered for financial aid, students must submit a completed program application, followed by a financial aid application.
Financial aid is awarded to students who have been accepted into the program and have chosen to apply for financial aid. Students are notified of their financial aid decision at the same time as their program admission decision. Failure to submit all required materials and a complete program application may result in a rejection or declined offer.
The final deadline to be considered for financial aid for each semester is indicated below, but we encourage students to apply at the earliest deadline possible.

    Financial Aid Deadlines

    • Fall 2021: June 28, 2021

    • Spring 2022: November 15, 2021
